สรุปรายละเอียดสำคัญ ระเบียบเศษเหลือทิ้งของผลิตภัณฑ์ไฟฟ้าและอิเล็กทรอนิกส์ เพื่อการกำหนดมาตรการป้องกันการเพิ่มปริมาณของซากผลิตภัณฑ์ไฟฟ้าและอิเล็กทรอนิกส์ โดยส่งเสริมการนำชิ้นส่วน/วัสดุกลับคืน (Recovery) และการใช้ซ้ำ/การนำกลับมาใช้ใหม่ (Recycle/reuse) โดยผ่านระบบการรับคืน (Return) และการจัดเก็บรวบรวม (Collection) ของผู้ผลิต และเพื่อลดความเสี่ยงและผลกระทบต่อสิ่งแวดล้อมอันเกิดจากการกำจัดซาก

ทั้งนี้ WEEE มุ่งเน้นการคุ้มครอง การปกป้อง และการปรับปรุงคุณภาพของสิ่งแวดล้อม เพื่อป้องกันสุขภาพของมนุษย์และการใช้ทรัพยากรธรรมชาติ
